On June 27th, we had an extra build team member joining us - Bobby Prater, long distance Chapter 18 member, drove all the way down from Michigan to pick up his very own monster gyro materials kit. Bobby is a rotary forum lurker and Blackhawk helicopter test pilot at his day job. We stayed late and got a lot done. I can't think of a better way to spend a Wednesday night. With the help of a few club members, Bobby has his airframe drilled out. He is planning on building his machine this winter, as he has been collecting gyro parts here and there. We look forward to seeing Bobby get his machine together and flying come next year! Nick has also begun work on his gyro and has made plans to get it ready for Mentone. A bit aggressive, sure, but it's Nick. "You don't think I know how to build a gyro?" If he says it'll be ready, then it'll be ready.
